GOD’S BLESSING AND FRUITFULNESS

“And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he
said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
“And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.” (Gen.32:26 & 29).
The secret of Jacob’s fruitfulness is for the simple
fact that he was blessed by the Lord. Fruitfulness is an evidence of God’s blessing upon a man. If God’s blessing is not upon a man, that man will become a desolate land. We cannot be blessed by the Lord unless obedience is in place. However, when God wants to exercise His sovereignty some times, He may decide to bless a man for no reason at all. Jacob enjoyed this privilege from the Lord, the Lord decided to favor him even when he was still in his mother’s womb (Rom. 9:13).
One of the reasons why God created Adam and Eve was for procreation (fruitfulness and multiplication), but He also knew that they cannot be fruitful and multiply according to purpose until He pronounced blessings upon them. God had to command fruitfulness and multiplication into their lives by pronouncing blessing upon them. “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Gen.1:28).
Fruitfulness responds to God’s blessing, until fruitfulness sees the blessing of God upon one’s life or in a place, it will not come. The Lord must be with a man before that man can be considered blessed and
until we are blessed with the blessings of the Lord we
cannot be fruitful. The evidence that God is with me
is His blessing upon my life and the evidence that His
blessing is upon my life is seen in my fruitfulness.
We must never play with the pronouncements of men of God upon our life. They are God’s representatives and channels through which God pronounces His blessings upon our lives before fruitfulness can take place. Honour your Pastors, and always render services to them that can provoke them to bless you. God honours whatever they declare upon you.
