NOT AS YOU THINK
“The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.” (Isa 50:4).
Many times, we make assertions regarding others that turns out to be wrong, and we end up hurting them the more in the process. Things are not always as we think particularly when God takes us through a process, therefore, it is wrong to speak carelessly irrespective of what we see going on in the life of a believer. Job’s friends and even his own wife were guilty of this. They got carried away by what was happening to Job at the time and pronounced the righteous man guilty.
We cannot have the tongue of the learned or speak seasoned words that can bring comfort to the weary if we do not allow God to speak into our ears first. Wisdom demands that we keep quiet if we don’t understand what’s going on even in our lives. Understanding gives us the right mindset to speak the right word. Being slow to speak and swift to hear according to James 1:19 is key when it comes to speaking seasoned words. May the Lord give us instructed tongue to know how to speak words of comfort into people’s lives in Jesus name. Amen!
